The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has launched the distribution of 1,160 food baskets in Abyan Governorate. This initiative marks the second phase of the Emergency Food Interventions Project in Yemen, aimed at supporting needy families, displaced individuals, teachers, and host families in the region.
Mahdi Al-Hamid, the Secretary-General of the Local Council in Abyan, praised the generous and continuous support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the King Salman Center. He emphasized that this assistance plays a crucial role in alleviating the suffering of local residents and meeting their basic food needs.
Al-Hamid highlighted that these interventions are part of Saudi Arabia’s broader humanitarian efforts to support the Yemeni people across various governorates. He noted the importance of enhancing food security for the most vulnerable groups in the region.
