Kuwait Condemns Repeated Iranian Aggressions and Affirms Right to Defend Sovereignty

Kuwait has expressed strong condemnation and outrage over the recent Iranian attacks on its territory. The latest incident occurred early this morning, marking a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and posing a direct threat to the security and stability of its citizens and residents. This act also constitutes a serious breach of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817.

Ongoing Threats to Regional Stability

In a statement released by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs and reported by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), officials reiterated that the continuation of these aggressions reflects a hostile approach and a dangerous escalation that jeopardizes regional security. Furthermore, these actions undermine diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and peace.

Kuwait’s Right to Self-Defense

The Ministry emphasized that Kuwait reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and ensure the security of its territory and vital installations against any aggression or threat. This assertion is grounded in Kuwait’s inherent right to self-defense, as outlined in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and international law.

Kuwait’s firm stance highlights its commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region while safeguarding its national interests. The government remains vigilant and prepared to respond to any threats that may arise.
