King Salman Humanitarian Aid Center Distributes 11,334 Food Baskets in Yemen

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 11,334 food baskets to displaced individuals and host communities from September 10 to September 24, 2026. This initiative forms part of the second phase of the Emergency Food Interventions Project in Yemen.

Assistance to Displaced Individuals

The distribution included 5,798 food baskets for those displaced due to the escalation of Houthi militia activities in the western coastal districts of Al Hudaydah and Taiz. The aid targeted 23 camps for displaced individuals in the governorates of Aden, Abyan, Taiz, and Lahij, benefiting 43,195 individuals across 5,798 families.

Support for Vulnerable Families

Additionally, the center provided 5,536 food baskets to the most vulnerable families and displaced individuals in the districts of Al Mukalla, Ash-Shahr, Al Rida, Al Qusayr, Al Dais Al Sharqi, Burum Mayfa, and Ghayl Bawazir in Hadhramaut Governorate. This assistance reached 38,752 individuals.

Local Officials Praise Humanitarian Efforts

Local officials praised the leading humanitarian role of the center and the continuous support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Yemeni people. They emphasized that these food baskets significantly alleviated the suffering of displaced and affected families, addressing their urgent nutritional needs.
