In a significant development today, the Road Maintenance Fund and the Public Roads and Bridges Corporation successfully reopened a critical route over the surface bridge in Wadi Bana, located on the ring road of Zinjibar city in Abyan province. This reopening comes after the bridge suffered damage due to the heavy rainfall floods, marking a pivotal moment for the local infrastructure.
The initiative, guided by directives from the Ministry of Public Works and Roads and in coordination with the local authority in Abyan, benefited from the funding and supervision of the Road Fund. The Public Roads Corporation executed the project, reflecting the official bodies’ commitment to ensuring the continuity of traffic movement on this essential route.
The operation involved deploying machinery to create a passage for the vehicles of citizens, travelers, and transport trucks. This effort aimed to alleviate the hardships faced by commuters and prevent any disruption to the movement, thereby preserving the safety of all road users affected by the bridge’s damages.
This strategic move to reopen the bridge underscores the collaborative spirit of various governmental entities working together to address the immediate needs of the community. It ensures that life in and around Zinjibar can return to normalcy, highlighting the importance of swift action in the face of infrastructure challenges.
