Imran: A young man was killed a day after accusing Houthi leaders of running drug trafficking networks.

Young Man Found Dead in Amran After Accusing Houthi Leaders of Drug Trafficking

A young man was found dead in Amran Governorate, Yemen, just one day after he publicly accused influential leaders within the Houthi militia of operating drug trafficking networks towards Saudi Arabia. This incident has sparked widespread outrage and calls for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Discovery of the Body

According to the platform “Amran Today,” the victim, Sadiq Mohammed Sadiq Jalal, a 20-year-old from Ibb Governorate, was discovered hanging in the Shbarq Valley in Harf Sufyan District, northern Amran, on Tuesday. The conditions of his death remain described as “mysterious.”

Accusations Against Houthi Officials

The discovery of Jalal’s body came just a day after he made direct accusations against the Houthi militia’s supervisor in the district and the security director appointed by the Houthis. He alleged that these officials were involved in protecting drug shipments and facilitating the passage of smuggling gangs in exchange for substantial financial rewards.

Community Response and Demands for Justice

Local residents have held the Houthi militia responsible for Jalal’s death. They are demanding an urgent and transparent investigation into the incident, urging authorities to identify the perpetrators and hold accountable anyone involved in the crime or in the smuggling networks that reportedly operate under the protection of powerful Houthi leaders.

This tragic event highlights ongoing concerns about drug trafficking in the region and the potential complicity of local authorities. As the community seeks justice, the call for accountability grows louder, reflecting a broader demand for safety and transparency in governance.
