Details of the Mudslide Incident

The mudslide occurred on Wednesday morning, originating from the Nepalese side and cascading toward the Chinese port. This disaster severed access roads, disrupted communications, and cut off power supplies, according to the Emergency Management Office in Qierong County.

Extensive Rescue Operations Underway

In response to the disaster, Chinese authorities activated a Level Two emergency response for biological disasters. They dispatched specialized teams to the site to coordinate rescue efforts and mitigate secondary disasters. However, rescuers face significant challenges in reaching affected areas due to blocked roads and ongoing landslides.
