Houthi militias storm Al Masoud village after a week of intense and indiscriminate shelling and siege.

Houthi Militias Launch Assault on Al-Masoud Village in Yemen

On Saturday afternoon, Houthi militias, backed by the Iranian regime, launched an aggressive assault on the village of Al-Masoud in the Al-Qurayshiyah district, located northwest of Rad’a city in Al-Bayda province. This operation marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict in the region.

Heavy Military Presence and Preparations

Local sources reported to the Yemeni news agency Saba that a large Houthi force, consisting of dozens of armored vehicles and heavy artillery, invaded the area of Al-Khash’a, part of the Al-Masoud village. This assault followed a week-long siege, during which the militias indiscriminately bombarded the village with various heavy and medium weapons.

Communication Blackout and Humanitarian Concerns

The sources confirmed that early Saturday morning, the Houthi militias initiated a frenzied bombardment of the village. They also cut off all communication networks and internet services to Al-Masoud and neighboring villages in preparation for the invasion. Local residents expressed grave concerns about potential atrocities, including mass executions, abductions, forced displacement, and the destruction of homes.

Civilian Casualties and Destruction

According to preliminary reports, the ongoing aggression by the Houthi militias has resulted in the deaths of several civilians, with over 15 individuals injured, including women and children. These figures are expected to rise as the assault continues. The militias have caused extensive damage to most of the village’s homes and its mosque.

This alarming situation highlights the urgent need for international attention and intervention to protect the civilians caught in the crossfire of this ongoing conflict.
