The Houthi militias have escalated their kidnapping operations in Ibb Governorate, targeting dozens of individuals in recent days. This surge in abductions coincides with calls to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the September 26 Revolution.
Local sources reported that on Saturday, the Houthi militias abducted four individuals across various districts in the governorate. Among those taken were Ahmad Abdu al-Radi from the Al-Rudai area in Al-Sha’er District and Abdul-Ra’uf Abdul-Jabbar al-Hashash, a local leader from the Al-Manil neighborhood in the city of Ibb.
In addition, the kidnappings also involved educators, including Fadh Badah and Muhammad Yahya al-Kabari, who were taken from Dhi al-Sufal District in the southern part of the governorate.
Since the beginning of September, the Houthi militias have launched a widespread campaign of abductions, targeting numerous young people, activists, and educators. The intensity of these operations has notably increased over the past three days, as authorities link the kidnappings to calls for commemorating the September Revolution.
These actions raise concerns about the ongoing human rights violations in the region and highlight the challenges facing those who wish to express their political views. The situation continues to evolve, drawing attention from local communities and international observers alike.
