Houthi Militias Force Students to Attend Sectarian Courses in Al Hudaydah

The Government Media Office in Al Hudaydah has reported that Houthi militias have compelled students from the College of Education in Zabid, located in the southern part of the province, to participate in sectarian training sessions. This action marks a continued effort to transform academic institutions into platforms for ideological indoctrination.

Coercive Measures by Houthi Officials

According to the statement, Ali Msalih, who falsely claims the title of Dean of the college, mandated students to gather under the supervision of Houthi mobilization officer Ahmed Al-Bushri. He threatened that any student who failed to attend would be barred from taking exams.

High-Level Houthi Presence

The statement also highlighted that these courses attracted senior Houthi leaders from the provinces of Saada, Al-Bayda, and Al Hudaydah. Msalih attempted to deflect responsibility, blaming the situation on Muhammad Al-Ahdal, who impersonates the university president.

Psychological Manipulation of Students

The Director General of Media emphasized that these actions serve as further evidence of the Houthis’ exploitation of students. They apply psychological pressure to recruit and mobilize students, using education in Al Hudaydah as a tool to impose Houthi ideology within universities.
