Armed gangs from the Al-Hattar and Al-Audi families, supported by field leaders of the Houthi militia, continue to instigate chaos and fear in the village of Al-Muqeen, located in the Al-Sayani district of southern Ibb Governorate. For several weeks, these gangs have exchanged gunfire and targeted homes and properties.
Local sources report that these gangs specifically target inhabited homes using live ammunition and hand grenades. As a result of these attacks, several civilians have sustained injuries, including the wife of citizen Qaid Saleh Al-Abadi and a child named Mohammed Farouk Ali Nasser from a neighboring village. The ongoing violence has left residents, particularly women and children, in a state of heightened fear and anxiety.
The continuous assaults have damaged 52 homes to varying degrees, while several vehicles have also suffered destruction, and livestock have perished. Amid these dire circumstances, the militia’s security forces have failed to take any action, prompting residents to express their frustration and urge authorities to intervene to protect their properties and ensure their safety.
Residents in several districts of Ibb are grappling with a surge in armed gang activities amid the prevailing security chaos in the governorate. Locals have accused Houthi security leaders of colluding with these gangs, exacerbating internal conflicts and furthering the militia’s sectarian agenda, which deepens the suffering of citizens.
