Foundation Laid for Housing Complex for Displaced Persons in Hajjah

On 20 Jan, Major General Abdul Karim Al-Sanini, the Governor of Hajjah, laid the foundation for a new housing complex designed for displaced persons in the Midi District of northern Hajjah. This project receives funding from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, with implementation carried out by the Taiba Foundation for Development.

Project Overview

During the inauguration, Governor Al-Sanini reviewed the project components, which include the construction of 232 homes for displaced families on over 79,000 square meters of land. Each housing unit will feature two rooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, and an internal courtyard. Additionally, the project plans to construct a school, a mosque, a water and sewage network, as well as two gardens.

Humanitarian Impact

Governor Al-Sanini expressed gratitude for the support provided by the King Salman Center. He emphasized that such humanitarian interventions play a vital role in alleviating the suffering of thousands of displaced families while improving the quality of life for the most vulnerable groups. He affirmed that this project will create a safe and stable environment for the displaced.

Goals of the Taiba Foundation

Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Khard, Chairman of the Taiba Foundation, highlighted the project’s objectives. He stated that it aims to provide permanent shelter for over 4,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries. The initiative seeks to end the ongoing displacement situation while safeguarding the dignity and security of displaced families. Furthermore, it will offer adequate protection against heavy rains, strong winds, and extreme heat.

This housing complex represents a significant step toward addressing the needs of displaced individuals in Hajjah, promoting stability and enhancing living conditions for those affected by conflict and disaster.
