Governor of Taiz Calls for Protection of State and Endowment Properties

In a recent meeting, Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan emphasized the urgent need to halt the mismanagement and waste of state lands and endowment properties. He stressed the importance of preserving these assets and managing them in accordance with the law to serve the interests of the state.

Meeting Highlights

During the extensive meeting, Governor Shamsan convened with key officials, including the Head of the Public Funds Prosecution, Judge Abdul Wahab Al-Shibani, and the Assistant Undersecretary of the Central Organization for Control and Auditing, Ali Al-Aizari. The meeting also included the Director of the State Lands and Properties Authority, Abdul Rahman Hashid, and the Director of the Endowments and Guidance Office, Abu Bakr Abdul Razak.

Governor Shamsan directed the officials to complete a comprehensive database of all endowment properties and state lands, including information on tenants. He highlighted the need to recover lost documents due to the war and to manage state and endowment properties systematically, avoiding random and improvised actions. He reiterated the importance of safeguarding these assets and ensuring their lawful use.

Accountability for Violations

The governor made it clear that any violations or illegal actions would face legal consequences. He called for accountability for those responsible for mismanagement and urged that all cases of misconduct be referred to the judiciary.

Progress Reports

During the meeting, Governor Shamsan received detailed reports from Hashid and Abdul Razak regarding the status of state lands and endowment properties in the province, as well as achievements made during 2024.

Addressing Mismanagement Issues

The meeting also addressed issues related to the waste of endowment properties and state lands. Discussions included the illegal granting of land and the improper handling of contracts, which have led to ongoing disputes and the undervaluation of rental agreements for these properties.
