Jassim Al-Budaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has issued a strong condemnation of the persistent Iranian aggressions aimed at Kuwait. In a statement released on Monday, Al-Budaiwi characterized these actions as a serious escalation that blatantly violates Kuwait’s sovereignty and contravenes international laws.
Al-Budaiwi underscored that these hostile acts represent a direct threat to the security and stability of the entire region. He described the ongoing aggressions as indicative of an unacceptable Iranian approach that undermines all endeavors to maintain peace and security in the area. Furthermore, he called upon the international community, including the United Nations Security Council, to take decisive actions against these violations, which jeopardize both regional and global peace.
The Secretary-General emphasized that the security of Kuwait is fundamentally linked to the security of all GCC member states. He reaffirmed that the council stands united in its support for Kuwait, fully endorsing all measures and actions taken to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Al-Budaiwi also highlighted the critical importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of Kuwaiti citizens and residents.
This statement reflects the GCC’s unwavering commitment to maintaining regional stability and its collective stance against any threats that may emerge.
