Free Medical Camp for Pediatric Heart Surgeries Launched in Taiz

Taiz, Yemen – Today, Dr. Abdulqawi Al-Makhlafi, the First Deputy Governor of Taiz, officially inaugurated a free medical camp focused on heart surgeries and catheterizations for children. This initiative has garnered support from Qatar Charity and the Qatar Red Crescent, with implementation overseen by the Qatar Red Crescent Office in Yemen at the local heart center.

Significant Medical Achievement

During the launch event, which was attended by Nabil Jamal, Director of the Planning and International Cooperation Office, Dr. Al-Makhlafi expressed his enthusiasm for the introduction of pediatric catheterization services. He emphasized that this development represents a significant medical achievement, further solidifying the successes of the heart center. Despite facing challenging circumstances, the center has emerged as a commendable model for health services within the republic.

Commitment to Health Sector Improvement and Vulnerable Populations

Dr. Al-Makhlafi highlighted that this milestone demonstrates Taiz’s capability to foster success and establish exemplary institutions when there is a commitment to professional standards. He viewed the launch of pediatric catheterization services as a crucial advancement in improving the health sector and serving the community effectively. The Deputy Governor also commended the substantial efforts of Professor Dr. Abu Dharr Al-Jundi, head of the heart center, alongside all medical, technical, and administrative staff.

In his remarks, Dr. Al-Jundi reaffirmed the center’s mission to assist the most vulnerable populations, particularly children. He noted that a single medical procedure could significantly alter a child’s future, underlining the importance of community support and engagement in this humanitarian endeavor. This initiative not only aims to provide essential medical services but also reinforces the commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility for children in need. The collaboration between local authorities and international organizations exemplifies a unified effort to promote the well-being of the Taiz community.
