Hadramout Cultural Cup: Seiyun Hosts the Sixth Edition's Final Competitions

In a significant cultural event, the city of Seiyun witnessed the commencement of the final competitions of the sixth edition of the Hadramout Cultural Cup for sports clubs today. The main committee of the Hadramout Cultural Cup, under the supervision of the Youth and Sports Office of the governorate, organized this prestigious tournament.

Eight Teams Battle for Cultural Supremacy

This year’s tournament features eight cultural teams, with four teams from Wadi Hadramout, including Seiyun, Youth of Al-Qatn, Union Hora, and Al-Tawoon Al-Aqqad, who qualified from the preliminary rounds. Similarly, four teams from the coastal region of Hadramout, namely Al-Sha’ab, Al-Tadamun, Sam’oon, and Al-Nukhba, are participating, showcasing the rich cultural diversity and competitive spirit among the clubs.

Local Authorities and Organizers Applauded

Dr. Magdy Sulaiman, the Director of the Youth and Sports Office in Wadi Hadramout and the Desert, praised the committee’s efforts in revitalizing the cultural movement within the clubs. He extended his gratitude to the local authority of the governorate for sponsoring the tournament, highlighting the importance of cultural activities in fostering community spirit and intellectual growth among the youth.

Seiyun Cultural Team Takes the Lead

In a thrilling start to the competition, the Seiyun Cultural Team secured a decisive victory with a perfect score of 80 points against Al-Tadamun’s 60 points in the first round of the quarterfinals, advancing to the semifinals. Meanwhile, Al-Tadamun bowed out of the tournament. The second round saw the Al-Sha’ab Hadramout Cultural Team advancing to the quarterfinals after defeating Al-Tawoon Al-Aqqad with a score of 60 to 30, setting the stage for an exciting continuation of the tournament, which will run until Thursday, 15th August.

Tournament Management and Oversight

The tournament is managed by a dedicated committee led by Khaled Al-Qahoom, the Chairman of the Hadramout Cultural Cup’s main committee, with Salah Bawazir as the Vice Chairman and supported by members Munir Al-Jaidi and Lotfi Bashadi. This team ensures the smooth running of the event, fostering a competitive yet friendly environment for all participants.

As the Hadramout Cultural Cup progresses, it not only highlights the region’s rich cultural heritage but also promotes cultural awareness and intellectual excellence among its youth.
