Fifty members of the Houthi militia lost their lives, and dozens more sustained injuries during intense clashes with Yemeni government forces at the Al-Dabas front, located north of Hais city in the southern Al-Hudaydah province. These confrontations represent the ongoing efforts to repel Houthi attacks on liberated areas.
State Minister Walid Al-Qudaimi reported significant losses among Houthi ranks during the fighting between the Al-Zaraniq brigades and the militia. He confirmed that 15 brave fighters from the Tihama region fell in battle, emphasizing their commitment to defending their land and dignity. Al-Qudaimi noted that the Houthi militia continues to launch suicide attacks on government positions, aiming to breach defenses in the liberated areas south of Al-Hudaydah. He praised the fighters’ courage, asserting that willpower surpasses artillery, and sacrifice leads to victory.
Military sources indicate that the clashes erupted from Friday evening until Saturday morning. The Houthi militia initiated an assault, supported by heavy artillery fire, targeting the 14th Infantry Brigade (Second Zaraniq) at the Al-Dabas front. However, government forces successfully repelled the Houthi attack after receiving additional reinforcements, forcing the militia to retreat.
In recent weeks, the Houthi militia has intensified its assaults on government positions north of Hais district. This escalation reflects their desperate attempts to achieve a tactical breakthrough amid a broader increase in fighting across various fronts. The Yemeni government remains resolute in facing these challenges and continues to protect liberated territories.
