Families of the kidnapped warn the Houthi militia against harming their loved ones through sham trials.

Families of individuals detained in the prisons of the Houthi militia, which is recognized as a terrorist organization, have issued a stern warning against any harm to their loved ones through what they describe as sham trials that the militia intends to carry out.

In a statement released by the families of the detainees, they reported receiving news in recent weeks about the militia’s acceleration of the so-called trial processes for those who have been held captive for nine years. The families allege that these actions aim to fulfill the militia’s premeditated intention to issue death sentences without any legal justification.

The families have cautioned against the commission of this crime and hold the Houthi militia fully responsible for any harm that may befall their loved ones. They have called upon the United Nations, its Special Envoy to Yemen, and all freedom-loving individuals worldwide to urgently act. They urge for pressure to be applied on the Houthi group to immediately release the detainees and restore their dignity, highlighting the unjust treatment of being kidnapped, tortured, and intimidated without committing any crime.

The statement further declares that these procedures and their outcomes are null and void, both religiously and legally, with no legitimate basis. The detainees were abducted from streets and homes on fabricated charges and have committed no crimes that would justify their detention, let alone result in politicized and vindictive execution.

The families of the detainees have affirmed their commitment to pursue all possible means to hold accountable those criminals involved in the kidnapping, disappearance, and torture of their loved ones, and their attempts to execute them in an effort to terrorize and conceal their heinous crime of abduction and disappearance.
