Early Warning Center Forecasts Continued Weather Instability in Hadhramaut Over the Next 48 Hours

The Early Warning Center for Multi-Hazard and Climate Risks in Hadhramaut Governorate has forecasted that the current weather conditions will continue to affect Hadhramaut and other central and western provinces of the country over the next 48 hours. According to the center’s latest weather map analyses and numerical forecasts, the persistence of unstable weather conditions in Hadhramaut, including the central and western provinces, is due to the extension of a moist tropical wave. The center expects these conditions to continue intermittently into next week.

Expansion of Thundercloud Activity Expected

The center also predicts an expansion in the activity of cumulonimbus clouds, generating thunderstorms from the afternoon hours into the early morning. This activity is likely to cover parts of the Wadi and Plateaus of inner Hadhramaut and the deserts, with a possibility of extending to the southern and western plateaus, the coastal heights of Hadhramaut, and the surrounding rural areas. Some coastal areas may experience varying rainfall intensities, from moderate to heavy, leading to local flash floods in some valleys and their branches.

Safety Warnings Issued to Residents

The Early Warning Center has urged all citizens to exercise caution during rainfalls, advising against crossing valleys and ensuring the elevation of both public and private properties from the paths of valleys and their branches. The center emphasized the importance of avoiding contact with lampposts or electrical wires during and after rainfalls and staying away from flying objects during strong winds. It also highlighted the potential for reduced horizontal visibility during heavy rains on the roads.

The center’s warnings come as part of its commitment to safeguarding the community against adverse weather conditions and ensuring the safety and preparedness of the residents in the affected regions.

For more detailed information and updates, residents are encouraged to follow the Early Warning Center’s announcements and take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their properties during this period of weather instability.
