Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, a member of the Leadership Council, stated that Taiz has paid a high price in terms of its economy and the lives of its people, and is determined to alleviate their suffering and honor their sacrifices.

Taiz: A Beacon of Sacrifice and Development in Yemen

Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, recently highlighted Taiz Governorate’s significant contributions to Yemen’s identity, institutions, and the foundational values of the nation. Taiz has consistently been more of a giver than a receiver, not only in terms of the martyrs and the wounded but across various domains of knowledge, skill, culture, and political activism. Through his official account on the social media platform X, Dr. Al-Alimi emphasized Taiz’s role in fueling Yemen’s engines of development and progress.

A Tribute to Resilience

According to Dr. Al-Alimi, it is impossible to be in Taiz without feeling a deep respect for the province, where every home tells a story of struggle and every street is a testament to perseverance. “This great city teaches us that challenge, victory, resilience, pride, and freedom are merely decisions,” he remarked. His visit to Taiz, alongside President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi and a delegation of national leaders, was a gesture of acknowledgment and appreciation for the sacrifices and the siege endured by its people. The visit also aimed at recognizing the need for improved services, particularly in electricity, water, and healthcare, and the essential military and security support.

Sacrifices and Support

Dr. Al-Alimi pointed out that Taiz has paid a steep price in terms of its economy, security, development, and the well-being of its citizens. The infrastructure and homes have suffered considerable damage due to an unjust siege. He praised the resilience of Taiz’s men, women, military, and civilians alike. He also commended the efforts of Taiz’s authorities, institutions, security forces, and the academic pillar, the University of Taiz, which hosted their distinguished event.

Acknowledging External Support

In his statements, Dr. Al-Alimi did not forget to acknowledge the significant support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which, as always, has generously supported Yemen and its people in all phases and sectors. He expressed gratitude towards King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction in Yemen, which has launched a series of vital developmental projects in Taiz. These projects are seen as a deserved recognition of Taiz’s contributions and sacrifices.

Dr. Al-Alimi’s reflections on Taiz underline the province’s pivotal role in Yemen’s ongoing struggle for stability and development. Despite the challenges, Taiz continues to be a source of inspiration and a testament to the unyielding spirit of its people.
