In a significant operation, customs officials, in collaboration with security forces at the Aden Free Zone, intercepted a shipment containing drone engines and other prohibited strategic goods. The cargo, which arrived from China, was concealed within a multi-item container.
The authorities seized five Chinese-made drone engines powered by fuel, along with two types of remote control devices totaling 15 wireless units specifically designed for drone operation. Additionally, the shipment included a small drone, four metal detectors, and two X-ray baggage inspection machines, along with their accessories.
Mohsen Qahtan, the Director General of Customs at the Aden Free Zone, reaffirmed the commitment to combatting smuggling and controlling prohibited goods. He emphasized that these efforts are crucial for maintaining national and regional security. The customs department aims to achieve further successes in its ongoing fight against illicit trafficking.
This operation highlights the proactive measures taken by customs officials to safeguard the region and prevent the entry of potentially dangerous items. The seizure reflects a broader strategy to enhance security and uphold the rule of law in Yemen.
