Council member Tariq Saleh: Preachers and scholars are the first line of defense against misguided Houthi ideology.

Tarik Saleh Emphasizes Role of Religious Leaders in Countering Houthi Ideology

Mokha Hosts First Gathering of Preachers and Religious Guides

In a significant event held today in Mokha, Taiz Governorate, Tarik Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, underscored the crucial role of preachers, scholars, and religious guides in combating the “misguided” Houthi ideology. This gathering marked the first meeting of preachers and advocates from the coastal districts of Al Hudaydah and Taiz, organized by the Ministry of Awqaf and Guidance, with the participation of Minister Dr. Mohammed Shabeeb.

Awareness as a Key to Victory Against Houthi Militias

During his address, Saleh emphasized that awareness serves as a vital key to achieving victory over the Houthi terrorist militias. He pointed out that the Houthis exploit divisions among Yemenis to weaken and control them, ultimately resorting to oppression through violence. He stressed the importance of equipping fighters and the community with the correct ideology to prevent infiltration by this destructive thought.

Responsibility of Preachers in Shaping Community Awareness

Saleh highlighted the responsibility of preachers in fostering community awareness and protecting society from the foreign ideologies propagated by the Houthis. He noted that the Iranian-backed militia has consistently distorted and manipulated facts to align with their false claims, even going so far as to misinterpret Quranic verses. He revealed that the militia has conducted approximately 200,000 cultural courses for its members within the Ministry of Interior, aiming to “brainwash” them and turn them into ticking time bombs.

Call for Vigilance and Social Solidarity

The Council member urged preachers and religious guides to remain vigilant against the spread of this misguided ideology. He called for the promotion of social solidarity and cooperation among people, especially in the current challenging circumstances.

Importance of Community Cooperation with Security Forces

In a related context, Saleh stressed the importance of community collaboration with security forces, asserting that security is a comprehensive system in which citizens play a crucial role. He praised the stability observed in the western coast, attributing it to the efforts of security personnel and community cooperation.

Critique of Houthi Claims Regarding Gaza

Saleh also addressed the Houthi claims of “supporting Gaza,” labeling them as mere “slogans” designed to evade public pressure and manipulate people into joining the front lines. He added that the militia would continue to exploit situations, this time under the guise of international sanctions.

Confidence in the Fight Against Houthis

“We do not rely on sanctions; we depend on God, our men in the field, and the justice of our cause and our united voice,” Saleh stated. He affirmed that the western coast would support all fronts of the republic in a unified battle against the Houthis, dismissing any possibility of peace with a militia that has violated agreements for two decades.

Regular Meetings to Enhance Awareness Activities

Finally, Saleh called for regular meetings among preachers, religious guides, and scholars to develop awareness activities and unify their message. This initiative aims to strengthen the community’s resilience against extremist ideologies and foster a cohesive front in the ongoing struggle against the Houthi threat.
