Today, Marib Governor Major General Sultan al-Arada urged all political forces and social groups to unify under the banner of the Republic. He emphasized the need for a strong national alignment to confront the new threats posed by the Imamate. His comments came during a speech at an artistic and rhetorical ceremony held in honor of the 62nd anniversary of the September 26 Revolution at the Martyr Sheikh Ali Nasser al-Qardahi Hall in Marib.
During his address, attended by Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, al-Arada warned against ongoing political disputes, party rivalries, and the resurgent tribalism that hinders progress. He criticized the tendency to dwell on past conflicts and tragedies, which only serve to deepen divisions within the Republican ranks.
He stressed the importance of correcting the political course and moderating media discourse. Al-Arada called for a national charter that promotes a secure, equitable future for all Yemenis, reflecting shared values and goals. He urged all parties to set aside their differences until the nation overcomes the current existential battle and restores state institutions seized by the Iranian-backed Houthi militias.
Al-Arada expressed pride in celebrating a cherished national occasion, stating, “The September 26 Revolution is not a fleeting event; it embodies the aspirations of a nation and the principles of its people.” He emphasized the importance of revisiting the revolution’s history to draw lessons for the present and future.
He also expressed gratitude and pride in the armed forces, security personnel, and popular resistance fighters for their sacrifices in defending the values of September and October revolutions and the republican system.
Al-Arada highlighted the shared goals and struggles of the Yemeni people, both in the north and south, against oppression and colonialism. He reiterated that the objectives of the September and October revolutions represent a national legacy that must be defended. He cautioned those who underestimate the resolve of the Yemeni people, stating, “Anyone who believes the Yemeni people will relinquish their gains or forget the sacrifices of their heroes is mistaken.”
Al-Arada urged the government to intensify efforts to meet the basic needs of citizens and take effective steps to improve living conditions and economic stability. He commended the government’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by various sectors and emphasized the need for a collaborative approach to restore economic stability and alleviate the burdens on citizens.
Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awdh bin Mubarak began his speech by conveying greetings from President Rashad Mohammed Alimi and fellow council members. He remarked on the significance of the 62nd anniversary of the September 26 Revolution, which symbolizes the ongoing struggle against oppressive Imamate rule. He noted that the revolution continues as long as the abhorrent Imamate ideology persists.
Dr. bin Mubarak reaffirmed the government’s commitment to support the armed forces and ensure their needs are met. He also honored the sacrifices of the wounded and the families of martyrs, pledging to prioritize their needs.
The Prime Minister reflected on Yemen’s historical struggle, emphasizing the interconnectedness of the September Revolution and the October Revolution against colonialism. He noted that the spirit of unity and shared identity among Yemenis transcends past divisions.
He reiterated that the dark forces behind the coup will not prevail against a people united in their quest for freedom and justice. He stressed the importance of collective action to restore the state and end the coup, highlighting that the current battle extends beyond Yemen to regional and global implications.
Dr. bin Mubarak also condemned the atrocities committed against the Palestinian people, calling for international accountability for the Israeli actions violating human rights and international law. He reiterated Yemen’s strong stance against such aggression, which threatens regional stability.
The event featured poetic performances by poets Hussein Wa’i and Mazen Talqi, along with a musical performance by artist Abu Aaskar, which captivated the audience.
The ceremony attracted notable figures, including Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council Abdullah Abu al-Ghaith, various ministers, military and security leaders, social figures, and representatives from local communities, all showing solidarity in the face of ongoing challenges.
This gathering underscored the collective determination of the Yemeni people to uphold their revolutionary values and strive for a brighter future.
