Sheikh Othman Majali, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, expressed his condolences today to Sheikh Taher, Hamir, and Ghamdan Al-Adhri following the death of their father, the late General Yahya bin Abdullah Al-Adhri. General Al-Adhri passed away in Cairo, Egypt, after a life dedicated to service and republican struggle.
In his condolence message, Majali highlighted General Yahya Al-Adhri’s rich history of activism. He recognized Al-Adhri as a tribal leader, military commander, diplomat, and governor, who consistently stood at the forefront of national causes and republican values. Majali noted that Al-Adhri was among the first leaders of the glorious September 26 Revolution, which opposed the defunct Imamate regime. He also emphasized Al-Adhri’s strong stance against the Houthi coup and his resistance to racist militia ideologies.
Majali concluded his message by paying tribute to General Yahya Al-Adhri’s efforts in mediating tribal and community disputes. He prayed for the late general’s soul, asking Allah to grant him mercy and place him in paradise. Majali extended his heartfelt wishes for patience and solace to Al-Adhri’s family in their home village of Bayt Al-Adhri in the Arhab district of Sana’a Governorate. He reminded everyone of the inevitable return to Allah, saying, “Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we shall return.”
This message underscores the significant contributions of General Yahya Al-Adhri to his community and the nation, marking a profound loss for many.
