Sheikh Othman Majli Sends Message of Sympathy
Today, Sheikh Othman Majli, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, expressed his condolences in a heartfelt message to Sheikh Mansour bin Saleh bin Shateef, Sheikh Ahmed bin Shateef, Sheikh Mani Al-Aji, Ambassador Khalid bin Shateef, and young Ali bin Saleh Al-Aji, along with their families and the Dham and Bakil tribes. This message comes in response to the tragic assassination of Sheikh Saleh Al-Aji bin Shateef, who fell victim to treachery while en route to offer condolences for the passing of Sheikh Naji Al-Qahqoh in Al-Jawf Governorate.
A Loss Felt Across the Community
In his condolence message, Sheikh Majli expressed profound sorrow over the loss of Sheikh Saleh, a prominent figure among the Bakil tribe. He highlighted Sheikh Saleh’s role as an influential tribal leader and national figure known for his commitment to reconciliation and community welfare. Sheikh Saleh prioritized the public good over personal interests during his tenure as Secretary-General of the Local Councils in Al-Jawf Governorate. His passing has left a significant void, as he was widely respected and admired within tribal circles across Yemen.
A Call for Unity and Reflection
Sheikh Majli concluded his message by condemning the cowardly act of targeting Sheikh Saleh. He emphasized that such actions violate the traditions and norms of Yemeni tribes, which have always upheld respect for humanitarian values and tribal occasions. He called upon the Almighty to grant the deceased eternal mercy and to provide comfort to his family, friends, and all who mourn his loss. "Indeed, we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return," he stated, urging the community to unite in this time of grief.
