Mawlood Salim Al-Sabihi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, emphasized the need for increased efforts to tackle electricity issues in Yemen. During a meeting at the Maasheq Palace in Aden, he highlighted the urgency of addressing the electricity crisis, particularly as summer approaches and demand on the grid rises.

Electricity as a Fundamental Service

Al-Sabihi stated that electricity service is a critical infrastructure component and a vital commitment to citizens. He noted that reliable electricity is essential for stability and a decent standard of living.

Coordination for Sustainable Solutions

The council member stressed the importance of collaboration among relevant authorities to develop practical and sustainable solutions in generation, distribution, and maintenance. He urged stakeholders to utilize available resources effectively, enhance performance, and improve operational efficiency at power stations across various provinces.

Minister’s Commitment to Improvement

Engineer Adnan Al-Kaf, Minister of Electricity and Energy, reported that the ministry is actively conducting studies and technical consultations to repair and operate idle generators. He pointed out that regular fuel supply would enable the full operation of the President’s power station and facilitate the maintenance and rehabilitation of the Chinese station to boost electricity production.

Local Government’s Role in Service Enhancement

Abdulrahman Al-Sheikh, the State Minister and Governor of Aden, outlined the local government’s efforts to improve service conditions in the province. He confirmed that the executive office is making significant strides in enhancing security and service stability while monitoring prices and regulating markets through field visits.

Importance of Smart Metering

The Director of the General Electricity Corporation emphasized the need to complete maintenance on the Mansoura station and ensure adequate fuel supply. He also highlighted the activation of smart metering systems to enhance operational efficiency and promote energy conservation.

Direct Impact on Service Stability

The General Director of Aden Electricity confirmed that providing spare parts and fuel would enable the operation of all generators, thereby increasing operational hours. This improvement would directly enhance service quality and stability.

Conclusion: A Call for Unity and Action

In closing, Al-Sabihi praised the efforts made to improve the electricity sector and commended the national spirit of those working in this vital field. He called for intensified collaboration and continuous coordination to expedite the implementation of urgent and sustainable solutions, ultimately alleviating citizens’ hardships and fostering stability in Aden and other liberated provinces.
