On Saturday, Major General Aidarus Qasim Al-Zubaidi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with Minister of Youth and Sports Nayef Saleh Al-Bakri to discuss the current status of the ministry’s operations. The meeting highlighted the performance of the ministry’s offices across various provinces and the role of the Youth and Sports Care Fund in supporting youth and sports activities nationwide.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Bakri provided a comprehensive overview of the achievements made by the ministry’s project sector. He emphasized the ongoing efforts to enhance sports infrastructure, which aims to create a conducive environment for youth to engage in various sports activities.
Al-Bakri also addressed the challenges hindering the execution of certain projects. He pointed out that insufficient funding and cash flow issues, stemming from the country’s difficult circumstances, pose significant obstacles. Despite these challenges, he assured Al-Zubaidi of the ministry’s commitment to overcoming these hurdles to ensure the continuity of work according to established plans.
Al-Zubaidi underscored the critical role of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in overseeing youth and sports activities. He noted that young people represent the most vital segment of society and are the foundation upon which the future relies.
The member of the Presidential Leadership Council stressed the need to intensify efforts to develop the sports sector. He called for support for young talents and the creation of favorable conditions that would enable them to contribute to sustainable development. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of enhancing Yemen’s sports presence both locally and internationally.
In conclusion, Al-Zubaidi reiterated his support for initiatives aimed at advancing the youth and sports sector. He emphasized the necessity of coordinated efforts among various stakeholders to achieve the desired objectives, ultimately benefiting youth and athletes across all provinces.
