Lieutenant General Aidarus al-Zubaidi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, emphasized the critical need to boost security readiness. During a meeting on Monday, al-Zubaidi met with Major General Khaled Ali al-Qamli, the head of the Coast Guard Authority. Al-Qamli provided an update on the operational status of the authority. He detailed the readiness and preparedness of personnel tasked with protecting Yemen’s coastlines and territorial waters. Furthermore, he discussed ongoing efforts to enhance operational capabilities in maritime security.
Al-Zubaidi also reviewed a report on the outcomes of the preparatory workshop for the Yemeni Maritime Security Partnership (YMSP) conference. This workshop recently took place in Amman, Jordan. He stressed the importance of leveraging the workshop’s findings to strengthen the Coast Guard’s capabilities and improve international cooperation in maritime security.
