In a recent visit, the Chief of General Staff and Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Sagheer Hamood bin Aziz, assessed the conditions of forces assigned to protect and secure the Al-Wadia land crossing in Al-Abra Directorate, Hadhramaut Governorate.
Accompanied by the Commander of Support and Reinforcement Forces in the Joint Forces for the Support of Legitimacy, Major General Sultan Al-Buqami, Bin Aziz reviewed the operational workflow, including the facilitation and crossing process for travelers, and the provision of necessary services. The team listened to briefings from Amer Al-Sayari, the General Director of the crossing, and other officials about efforts to ensure smooth and efficient passage for citizens and travelers.
Lieutenant General Bin Aziz examined the military and security forces tasked with the protection and security of the crossing. He urged all personnel to exert maximum effort in executing their duties with dedication and precision, to serve as exemplary models of discipline, to prioritize the service of travelers, to maintain a commendable image in citizen interactions, and to remain highly vigilant and attentive to preserve security at the crossing and prevent any breaches.
During his visit, the Chief of General Staff also met with several citizens and travelers at the crossing, listening to their conditions and needs.
Further, Bin Aziz, alongside Major General Al-Buqami, inspected the workflow at the Saudi field hospital in the Al-Wadia area, observing the medical efforts and humanitarian services provided to citizens and travelers.
In a significant development, Bin Aziz inaugurated the Al-Wadia Basic Education School project, financed by the Command of Support and Reinforcement Forces for the Coalition Forces inside Yemen. This initiative marks a crucial step in the rehabilitation of the Al-Wadia land crossing and the development of infrastructure.
Lieutenant General Bin Aziz expressed gratitude for the supportive stance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards Yemen, its leadership, and its people across various stages and aspects. He acknowledged Saudi contributions in supporting and funding projects for the rehabilitation of the Al-Wadia land crossing and infrastructure development, highlighting the strong bilateral relations and continued support in these challenging times.
This visit underscores the ongoing efforts to ensure the security and efficiency of the Al-Wadia border crossing, a critical point for travelers and a symbol of the broader support Yemen receives from its allies.
