On Saturday, the Al-Wadiah Border Security Battalion successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle a shipment of narcotics concealed in a transport truck heading to Saudi Arabia. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
The battalion reported that the confiscated items included:
The smugglers employed complex concealment methods to hide the narcotics. Notably, they placed part of the drugs inside a disguised fire extinguisher, along with other hiding techniques within the truck.
The battalion emphasized that this operation forms part of their continuous efforts to combat smuggling. It reflects the effectiveness of security measures and the capability of personnel to detect and prevent smuggling attempts, despite the diverse tactics used by traffickers.
Colonel Bassem Abdu Al-Najjar, the battalion commander, issued a stern warning to smugglers. He stated that all their methods are now known to security forces. The battalion remains on high alert and will not allow any smuggling attempts that threaten the security of the border crossing or compromise safety protocols.
