Interpol Delegation Visits Aden to Strengthen Security Cooperation

A delegation from Interpol visited Aden today to explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration in vital security and service facilities.

Overview of the Visit

The delegation included Ibrahim Farghali, a criminal investigation officer, and security evaluation officer Thilery Fernandez. They were accompanied by Dr. Abdulkhaleq Al-Salawi, the Director General of the International Cooperation and Criminal Police Department at the Ministry of Interior. Their visit aimed to assess various facilities and discuss potential joint efforts.

Health Services Assessment at Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Hospital

The delegation first toured the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Hospital, formerly known as Aden General Hospital. This facility recently underwent rehabilitation and received state-of-the-art medical equipment through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.

Engineer Ahmed Makhli, the director of the Saudi program in Aden, provided an overview of the hospital’s operations. He highlighted the intensive care unit, emergency services, and specialized clinics. The delegation expressed admiration for the hospital’s advanced infrastructure and effective management.

Container Port Inspection

Following the hospital visit, the delegation proceeded to the container port. They met with Engineer Fadl Qasim Al-Hajili, the Deputy General Manager of the Aden Port Development Company, along with other port officials. The team reviewed operational procedures and security measures in place to ensure safe loading and unloading processes. They also discussed inspection methods for detecting prohibited materials and strategies to combat smuggling and maritime infiltration.

Both parties emphasized the importance of enhancing technical capabilities and intensifying specialized training programs for port personnel.

Tour of Aden International Airport

The delegation concluded their visit at Aden International Airport, where they examined the operations of key airport facilities. They toured various operational and technical departments, including departure and arrival lounges.

Abdulraqeeb Al-Amri, the airport’s General Manager, provided a detailed explanation of ongoing efforts to improve services and performance quality. He discussed updates to operational systems and initiatives to enhance the efficiency of staff across different airport sections.
