Governor of Al-Mahra, Mohammed Ali Yasser, today reviewed the report and outcomes of the workshop focused on preparing the economic and social plan for the province for the period of 2027–2029.
During the meeting, the governor listened to a briefing on the workshop’s main outcomes. Attendees included the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Salem Nimer; the first deputy governor, Brigadier Dr. Mukhtar Al-Jaafari; the technical deputy, Engineer Awad Qwaizan; and the Director-General of the Planning and International Cooperation Office, Ali Salem Mohsen Balhaf. The briefing highlighted the workshop’s priorities, challenges, and proposed development projects, all aimed at addressing the actual needs of the province, its districts, and various sectors.
The workshop took place in Mukalla on September 28 and 29, 2026. It discussed the most significant developmental challenges and needs, identifying priorities and proposed projects within the plan’s framework. This preparation aims to create a development plan based on local needs and priorities.
Governor Yasser emphasized the importance of the workshop’s outcomes. He praised the efforts of the participating entities in its preparation. He reiterated the local authority’s commitment to completing the economic and social plan for the province. This plan aims to direct development projects and interventions toward actual priorities, ultimately improving services and enhancing development opportunities.
