The local authorities in Al Hudaydah Governorate have initiated the distribution of 100 fishing boats to beneficiaries in the Khokha District, located in the southern part of the province.

On Monday, the Director General of Khokha, Salem Alyan, alongside the Director General of Ports at the Red Sea Fisheries Authority, Harbi Banda, officially launched the distribution of these boats. This initiative is part of a conditional cash transfer project funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in collaboration with the Yemen Red Crescent Society.
Support for Fishermen and Sustainable Development
During the launch event, both Alyan and Banda praised the support provided by the ICRC under the fishermen support project. They emphasized the significance of sustainable projects in enhancing the living standards of beneficiary families. The distribution of these boats aims to empower local fishermen and improve their livelihoods.

The event saw the attendance of key figures, including the Director of the Coast Guard Center in Khokha, Rajai Bukhari, and representatives from fishermen’s associations, such as Fouad Dubla, along with Rassem Fakhri from the Yemen Red Crescent Society.
