On Wednesday, the International Professional Teaching Certification (IPTC) project commenced in Aden, Yemen’s temporary capital. This initiative aims to qualify 200 teachers from Aden, Hadramout, and Taiz for an international teaching license. The project seeks to enhance educational performance and improve the quality of the educational process in Yemen.
The IPTC project receives joint funding from the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen and the Hael Saeed Anam Group. The King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies implements the project on behalf of King Saud University, in collaboration with the Humanitarian Development Program and under the supervision of Yemen’s Ministry of Education.
Nabil Al-Shaari, the Director General of Qualification at the Ministry, emphasized that this project marks a significant step in training educational staff according to international standards. He praised the role of donor organizations in reaching this crucial stage. Meanwhile, Mona Al-Saeedi, the coordinator for organizations at the Education Office in Aden, welcomed the participants and highlighted the project’s potential to improve educational outcomes.
Dr. Adel Barayan, the project’s executive director, outlined the project’s objectives and phases. He committed to providing training that aligns with the best international practices. Additionally, Ahmed Makhli, the director of the Saudi Program, stated that this project represents a true model of sustainable development in the education sector. He noted that it complements Saudi Arabia’s efforts to build and equip educational institutions in Yemen.
The IPTC project stands as a beacon of hope for educational reform in Yemen. By equipping teachers with international qualifications, it aims to foster a brighter future for the country’s educational landscape.
