The security situation in Ibb, controlled by Houthi militia, continues to deteriorate. Recent incidents highlight the daily violations faced by residents. A young man suffered gunshot wounds, while an 18-year-old girl was kidnapped in broad daylight.
Local sources report that the young man was riding his motorcycle, which he relies on to support his family. Suddenly, he encountered a Houthi patrol in the area. Without warning, militia members opened fire, hitting him in the thigh.
Emergency responders transported the injured man to Al-Liwa Al-Akhdar Hospital in Al-Suhul. Unfortunately, he did not receive adequate medical care and fell into a coma due to severe bleeding. Later, he was moved to a hospital in Ibb, where he remains in critical condition.
Witnesses noted that the militia members left the scene without assisting the injured man or attempting to take him to the hospital. Local residents intervened to help save his life.
In a separate incident, an 18-year-old girl, identified as “A.H.Q.,” was abducted from in front of the Al-Karimi Center on Al-Adain Street. Kidnappers forced her onto a bus and fled the scene, prompting widespread searches and urgent calls for information about her whereabouts.
These incidents reflect the growing insecurity in Ibb, raising alarm among residents. Community members demand action to address the escalating violence and protect their safety. As the situation develops, the need for accountability and support for victims becomes increasingly urgent.
