Marib Meeting Focuses on Combat Readiness

The Chief of General Staff and Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Saghir bin Aziz, convened a significant military meeting in Marib. The gathering aimed to discuss plans for the 2026 training and combat year, featuring participation from military region leaders and heads of various departments.

Emphasizing Military Discipline

During the meeting, Lieutenant General bin Aziz stressed the importance of military discipline and adherence to organizational directives issued by the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff. He highlighted the necessity of following the training and operational plans for the upcoming year. This commitment aims to enhance the capabilities of the armed forces and improve their combat effectiveness.

Reports on Combat Readiness

The attendees received brief reports from regional and operational leaders concerning the current state of combat readiness and troop morale. Bin Aziz underscored the need for operational integration and unified efforts to support the national battle, reinforcing the cohesion of the military institution.

Enhancing Security Preparedness

The Chief of Staff also called for heightened readiness and improved security vigilance in line with directives from the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. This initiative falls within the framework of comprehensive combat readiness, as outlined in the announced emergency plan, to address various challenges and threats.

Addressing Regional Threats

Lieutenant General bin Aziz identified the Houthi terrorist militia, backed by the Iranian regime, as a significant threat to security and stability in Yemen and the region. He noted the militia’s ongoing violations and attacks, despite efforts to achieve peace.

Support for National Leadership

The armed forces reaffirmed their support for the decisions made by President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council. Bin Aziz praised the pivotal role and brotherly support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the fight to restore the state and end the Houthi coup.

This meeting marks a crucial step in preparing Yemen’s military for the challenges ahead, ensuring that the armed forces remain ready and effective in their mission.
