A woman was killed, and five civilians, including a woman and a child, sustained injuries from shelling and sniper fire by Houthi militias targeting residential areas in the Sabir Al-Mawadim district, southeast of Taiz city.
The Taiz Human Rights Center issued a statement confirming the death of a woman and the injury of a child due to the Houthi militias’ bombardment of homes and villages in the Al-Shuqab area of the Sabir Al-Mawadim district.
The center reported, “Our field monitoring team documented the injury of citizen Rana Ibrahim Muhammad Ibrahim (29 years old) from sniper fire by the militia in the Kahlān area of the Sabir Al-Mawadim district.”
Additionally, the center noted that three brothers were injured by shrapnel from a shell fired by the militias, which landed on their home in the Aqaqah neighborhood of the district. The injured brothers are Omar Amin Abdulqawi (20 years old), Musa Amin Abdulqawi (23 years old), and Abda Amin Abdulqawi (25 years old).
The center condemned these violations, calling for an end to the shelling and sniping that targets civilians, ensuring the protection of residents, lifting the siege imposed on Taiz city, and holding accountable those responsible for these crimes to prevent impunity.
