A mobile medical clinic has successfully concluded its operations in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen, providing essential healthcare services to 10,000 individuals. This initiative, executed by the Nidaa Development and Rehabilitation Foundation, received funding from the Kuwait-based International Islamic Charitable Organization. The project primarily targeted the governorates of Abyan, Lahij, and Hodeidah.
The mobile clinic project aimed to assist the most vulnerable groups, including women, children, and the elderly, in remote areas suffering from a lack of healthcare services. By offering primary medical care, combating epidemics, providing maternal care, and treating malnutrition in children, the initiative sought to reduce patient and mortality rates by 50%.
Dr. Nermin Younis, the project officer for the mobile medical clinic, praised the ongoing support from the International Islamic Charitable Organization. In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), she highlighted the organization’s humanitarian role in assisting those in need. The clinic featured general practitioners, reproductive health and nutrition specialists, immunization teams, and pharmacists who distributed medications free of charge.
The mobile medical clinic’s successful operation marks a significant step in improving healthcare access for underserved populations in Yemen. With continued support from international organizations, similar initiatives can further enhance health outcomes in the region.
