On Monday, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with Minister of Public Works and Roads, Engineer Salem Al-Huraizi, in Aden, the temporary capital. They discussed the latest developments in road and bridge projects across the liberated provinces, as well as the current status of the ministry and its strategic plans for the upcoming phase.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Huraizi provided a detailed overview of the ministry’s priorities. Key initiatives include the rehabilitation of vital roads and the enhancement of transportation networks between provinces. Additionally, they addressed the urgent need to revive stalled projects that require immediate intervention.
Both officials highlighted significant challenges facing the public works sector. The war has severely damaged infrastructure, complicating recovery efforts. They emphasized the importance of coordinating with relevant authorities and international partners to overcome these obstacles and strengthen reconstruction efforts.
Al-Mahrami stressed the necessity of intensifying efforts to improve essential services, particularly those that directly impact citizens’ lives. He believes that these improvements will foster a stable developmental environment.
Furthermore, Al-Mahrami reaffirmed the Presidential Leadership Council’s support for all initiatives aimed at enhancing infrastructure. He called for a collaborative approach among ministries, local authorities, and donors to ensure that projects meet the highest technical standards.
The discussions between Al-Mahrami and Al-Huraizi reflect a commitment to rebuilding and improving Yemen’s infrastructure. Their collaborative efforts aim to create a more stable and prosperous future for the country.
