Focus on Skill Development
Saeed Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadhramaut, highlighted the local government’s commitment to vocational education and training. He described this sector as a cornerstone for building human capacity. Al-Khanbashi stressed the importance of enhancing the role of technical and vocational institutes in preparing youth with practical skills. These skills can open doors to employment opportunities and improve living standards.
Meeting with Education Officials
During a recent meeting with Dr. Saeed Bajaber, the Director of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Office in Coastal Hadhramaut, Al-Khanbashi reviewed the current state of educational and training processes. He assessed the performance levels at technical and vocational institutes and monitored the implementation of a development plan for vocational education. This plan includes updates to the “Refrigeration and Air Conditioning” specialization and the launch of the second phase for developing the “Renewable Energy” department at the Industrial Technical Institute, in partnership with the Al-Awn Foundation for Development.
Support for Vocational Training
Al-Khanbashi reiterated the local authority’s support for advancing vocational education and training. He emphasized the need to address challenges faced by technical and vocational institutes. Furthermore, he called for expanding training areas to align with labor market needs and development requirements in Hadhramaut.
Commitment to Program Development
In response, Dr. Bajaber confirmed that the office will continue to enhance its training and specialization programs. He aims to improve the efficiency of technical and vocational institutes, ensuring they produce qualified personnel who meet labor market demands and contribute to community service.
This initiative reflects a broader commitment to fostering skill development among youth in Hadhramaut, ultimately aiming to boost the local economy and improve quality of life.
