The Meteorological and Early Warning Center of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology in the temporary capital, Aden, has issued a warning regarding scattered rainfall that may be thunderous and vary in intensity across several governorates from November 6 to November 9.
In its weather bulletin released on Friday evening, the center indicated that the anticipated rainfall could accompany thunderstorms in the Socotra Archipelago, Aden Gulf, and the eastern and southern coastal areas. This includes the highlands and plateaus adjacent to the governorates of Al-Mahrah, Hadramaut, Shabwa, Abyan, and parts of Aden.
The center noted that the chances of rainfall are likely to expand later, potentially covering parts of the western highlands, slopes, and interior regions of the governorates of Lahij, Al-Dhale’e, Taiz, Ibb, Hajjah, and Raymah. There is also a possibility that the rainfall may extend to the western coastal plains, with heavy rain expected in some areas.
The center urged citizens to exercise caution and avoid riverbeds and flood channels. It advised against crossing bridges and low-lying roads during rainfall, warning against the risks of crossing floodwaters, even when water levels appear low.
Additionally, the center emphasized the importance of staying away from power poles, billboards, and trees during thunderstorms. Citizens should take necessary precautions to mitigate the risks associated with the expected weather fluctuations.
