Governor of Hadramout Reviews Student Initiatives

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadramout, Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, visited Mukalla today to assess the activities and programs of the Sibyan Student Forum. The meeting included the forum’s leadership and several members.

Al-Khanbashi listened to an overview of the key student and youth initiatives implemented by the forum. He learned about their role in developing youth capabilities and enhancing their educational, cultural, and community participation. The discussion also addressed the challenges faced by the forum and its needs.

The meeting explored ways to support and develop the forum’s activities, aiming to provide a suitable environment for youth to implement their programs and initiatives. This support will enhance their role in serving the community and utilizing their energy and creativity.

Al-Khanbashi emphasized the importance of youth initiatives in shaping a generation capable of contributing to development. He stressed the local authority’s commitment to supporting activities that benefit youth and expand their opportunities for learning, creativity, and community involvement.

Agreements for Service and Development Projects

In a separate context, Al-Khanbashi oversaw the signing of two agreements for implementing service and development projects, attended by the Governor’s Deputy for Technical Affairs, Engineer Zaher Al-Kathiri.

The first agreement included:

  • The supply and installation of solar energy systems for 12 government facilities (6 schools and 6 government facilities).
  • The implementation of a public street lighting project from Khamir Bridge to Al-Hurriya School in Al-Kod and the Al-Maawis area, covering a distance of 16 kilometers with 918 lamps. The project will be executed by Bin Salman Contracting Company, funded by the local authority, to support renewable energy use, reduce the load on the electricity grid, and improve lighting and services.

The second agreement included:

  • The construction and renovation of training halls at the Commercial Institute in Faw.
  • The supply and procurement works related to the project, executed by Abdul Hafiz Al-Yahri Contracting Company as part of the province’s investment program, aimed at enhancing the training environment for technical education and vocational training.

Both agreements were signed in accordance with the decisions of the Hadramout Tender Committee, which approved awarding the projects to contractors who met the technical and legal requirements.

Local Authority Directions

The Governor’s Deputy for Technical Affairs confirmed that the implementation of these projects aligns with the local authority’s direction to enhance priority service and investment projects, improve infrastructure, utilize renewable energy, and support the technical education and vocational training sector. This initiative aims to positively impact the level of services provided to citizens and support local development efforts.
