Today, in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen, Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mutee Dhamaj, chaired a crucial meeting with hotel managers and representatives from hotel associations. The agenda centered on developing the hotel sector, improving services, and boosting tourism investment.
Addressing Challenges in the Hotel Sector
During the meeting, which included ministry officials Jaafar Abubakar, Hussein Al-Sakab, and Obaid Al-Hadha, participants discussed the significant challenges facing hotel establishments. They also highlighted the government’s efforts to revitalize the tourism sector.
Minister Dhamaj emphasized the ministry’s commitment to overcoming obstacles that hinder hotel and tourism facilities. He stated that these efforts aim to enhance the investment environment, improve service quality, and foster growth in the hotel sector.
Enhancing Service Quality and Workforce Training
The minister underscored the importance of elevating the standards of tourism and hotel services. He noted that this sector represents a promising economic avenue, contributing to investment stimulation and job creation.
Furthermore, he stressed the need to train personnel in the hotel sector according to established tourism standards. This training will ensure high-quality services that enhance the attractiveness of Aden and Yemen as tourist destinations. The ministry has begun coordinating with community colleges to implement training programs that align with the needs of the tourism and hotel job market.
Promoting Cultural and Tourism Activities
Minister Dhamaj also expressed the ministry’s dedication to invigorating cultural and tourism activities across the country. He announced plans to organize a series of cultural, artistic, and tourism festivals. These events aim to raise awareness about the importance of tourism and culture while showcasing the unique attributes of Aden and other provinces, solidifying their status as appealing tourist destinations.
