Thousands of angry protesters gathered in Marib today, expressing their unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza. They condemned the ongoing Israeli crimes against innocent civilians in the region.
The demonstration took place in Marib city following Friday prayers, as part of the weekly solidarity events supporting Gaza. Participants raised banners urging the United Nations and the international community to take action against the genocide perpetrated by the occupation forces in Gaza. They highlighted the continued targeting of hospitals, schools, and refugee camps, as well as the blockade preventing humanitarian aid from reaching the besieged area.
Protesters demanded that the United Nations Security Council, the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court, the Human Rights Council, the European Union, and all relevant international bodies fulfill their legal, moral, and humanitarian responsibilities. They emphasized the plight of over two million civilians trapped under bombardment and starvation for the third consecutive month.
The demonstrators expressed their strong condemnation of the international community’s shameful silence regarding the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Gaza. They argued that the global stance has become complicit with the occupation, allowing what they termed “shameful global silence” to persist in the face of war crimes. This silence, they claimed, provides a green light for further violations without any real international accountability.
The protesters insisted on the necessity of bringing Israeli leaders to international criminal courts to face justice as war criminals. They pointed out that the impunity enjoyed by these perpetrators encourages further massacres and undermines international law.
The crowd highlighted that the ongoing atrocities, which amount to genocide and ethnic cleansing against children, women, and civilians in Gaza, represent a stain on humanity. They reiterated their absolute support for the Palestinian people’s right to resist the Israeli occupation by any means necessary, including armed struggle, as enshrined in international laws and conventions.
The demonstrators reaffirmed the steadfast position of the Yemeni people regarding the Palestinian cause. They pledged to support the Palestinian struggle and bolster their resilience against the occupation until the liberation of their land and the establishment of an independent state on their entire national territory.
