A citizen from the Nati district in Al-Bayda governorate died after a mine, left by the Houthi militia, exploded. This militia receives support from the Iranian regime.
According to a local source, the victim, Saleh Jabr, lost his life when the mine detonated while he attempted to cross a water-filled area. This flooding occurred due to the tropical weather that affected several governorates earlier this week.
The source reported that authorities found numerous remnants of mines in various locations within the Wadi Al-Nahr area of the Bayhan district in Shabwa governorate. These mines were washed away by the floods flowing from Nati, raising concerns about the potential spread of danger to other areas as the water continues to flow. The source urged immediate action from relevant authorities to intensify field surveys and raise awareness about the risks posed by unexploded ordnance.
The source also called on citizens to exercise extreme caution. Residents should avoid any suspicious or unfamiliar objects and refrain from touching or attempting to move them. Instead, they should report such items immediately to the Executive Center for Mine Action in Yemen. This will enable specialized teams to locate and safely handle these threats, protecting lives and preventing further casualties.
