The earthquake occurred in a high-altitude area at 5:06 PM Beijing time (09:06 GMT). The report also noted several aftershocks, including one measuring approximately 5.0 on the Richter scale. Aftershocks are common following a primary quake, prompting both residents and authorities to remain vigilant and cautious.
