Training Course on AI Tools for Journalists Launches in Al-Ghaydah

A training course designed to enhance the skills of journalists in the application of artificial intelligence tools commenced today in Al-Ghaydah, located in the Mahra Governorate. This initiative is organized by the Bridge for Development Foundation (JFD) in collaboration with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) – Yemen Office.

Course Objectives and Duration

The two-day course aims to improve journalists’ capabilities in integrating AI technologies into their reporting. Participants will learn to navigate the digital transformation currently impacting the media industry, ensuring they remain competitive and effective in their work.

Insights and Opportunities from Program Leaders

Mahamoud Qiah, the Program and Projects Director at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, noted that this workshop is part of a series of training programs that have been successfully conducted in Taiz, Hadhramaut, and Mahra. The overarching goal is to enhance journalists’ proficiency in utilizing AI tools effectively within their media practices.

Abubakr Bin Sheikh, Project Officer, emphasized that the workshop serves as a valuable platform for participants to share experiences and acquire modern skills. He highlighted that these new competencies will significantly enhance the quality of media content produced by journalists.

This training initiative marks a pivotal step in empowering journalists across Yemen, providing them with the essential tools needed to thrive in an increasingly digital landscape.
