In a significant diplomatic meeting, Yemeni Minister of Information Muammar Al-Eryani met with Libyan Ambassador to Yemen Idris Abu Bakr today in the temporary capital of Aden. The two officials discussed the bilateral relations between Yemen and Libya, focusing on enhancing joint cooperation in the media sector. They also addressed several issues of mutual interest that strengthen their ties.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Eryani received an official invitation to participate in the upcoming Arab Media Ministers’ meeting scheduled to take place in Libya this September. He expressed his gratitude for the invitation, welcoming the opportunity to attend this event. This invitation underscores Libya’s commitment to strengthening Arab media collaboration and coordinating positions on pressing Arab issues.
Al-Eryani emphasized the deep-rooted brotherly and historical relations between the Yemeni and Libyan peoples. He praised the positive role of the Libyan ambassador and his efforts to develop bilateral relations and enhance media cooperation. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of Arab media coordination in addressing current challenges and exchanging expertise to improve media discourse and serve common Arab causes.
In response, Ambassador Abu Bakr reaffirmed Libya’s commitment to strengthening relations with Yemen and activating areas of joint cooperation. He pointed out the necessity of maintaining communication between media institutions in both countries to serve the interests of their peoples.
The meeting also included the presence of Mohammed Bashraheel, head of the 14 October Printing and Publishing Foundation, and Fares Abdulaziz, head of the Aden Satellite Channel. This meeting marks a crucial step in fostering collaboration between Yemen and Libya, particularly in the media sector, reflecting both countries’ dedication to enhancing their bilateral ties.
