On Sunday, Yemeni Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Sha’if Mohsen Al-Zandani held discussions with Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly in Cairo. The meeting aimed to fortify the historical ties between Yemen and Egypt and to explore new avenues for collaboration.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

During their discussions, both leaders concentrated on enhancing bilateral relations and aligning their positions on regional issues of shared concern. Significant topics included the security of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, as well as the threats posed by Houthi militias to international navigation and regional stability.

Messages of Support and Economic Cooperation

Dr. Al-Zandani conveyed greetings from Yemeni President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, expressing gratitude for Egypt’s unwavering support of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government. He underscored the importance of building on the outcomes of the strategic dialogue between the two nations to expand their bilateral relations.

The Yemeni government is eager to convene the Joint Higher Committee, led by the Prime Ministers of both countries. This committee aims to activate cooperation pathways, especially in economic collaboration and expanding private sector partnerships. Dr. Al-Zandani emphasized the deep-rooted connections and shared interests between Yemen and Egypt, particularly due to their geographical proximity in the Red Sea region.

In response, Prime Minister Madbouly warmly welcomed Dr. Al-Zandani and his delegation, expressing pride in the historical and fraternal relations between the two nations. He reiterated Egypt’s commitment to supporting Yemen’s government and emphasized the importance of unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity for Yemen.
