Yemen Participates in Scientific Seminar on Integrated Border Management

The Republic of Yemen has joined a scientific seminar focused on integrated border management, which commenced today in Amman, Jordan. The event is organized by the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences in collaboration with the Jordanian Public Security Directorate and the Arab Center for Technical Cooperation in Migration and Border Management. The Yemeni delegation is led by Major General Mohammed Musaad, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Security and Police.

Objectives of the Seminar

This three-day seminar aims to enhance understanding of integrated border management and its significance in national and international security contexts. Participants, including academics, experts, and security leaders from Arab interior ministries, will explore new risks and challenges associated with border management. Key topics include the impacts of illegal immigration, smuggling, and border conflicts.

Additionally, the seminar will analyze methods and techniques used in smuggling migrants and contraband across borders. It will emphasize the importance of regional and international cooperation in information sharing and combating smuggling and illegal immigration.

The seminar will cover several critical areas, including:

  • Security Challenges in Border Management: Participants will discuss the various security threats that arise in managing borders effectively.

  • Strategies Against Smuggling and Terrorism: Experts will share insights on the most effective strategies to combat smuggling and terrorism.

  • Role of Modern Technology: The seminar will highlight how modern technology and artificial intelligence can enhance border security and monitoring.

  • International and Regional Cooperation: Discussions will focus on developing collaborative strategies for border management and addressing transnational organized crime.
