The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has strongly condemned the recent incursion by extremist Israeli Minister Itamar Ben Gvir into the Al-Aqsa Mosque, accompanied by groups of settlers and under the protection of Israeli forces. This act represents a blatant violation of international law and the historical and legal status of the mosque, provoking the sentiments of Muslims worldwide.
In a statement released today, which the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Yemen’s unequivocal rejection of these actions. The ministry denounced attempts to impose a new reality or to divide Al-Aqsa Mosque temporally and spatially. It warned of the serious repercussions these actions could have on security and stability in the region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and compel the Israeli occupation to cease its repeated violations of sacred sites. Yemen reiterated its steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination. The ministry emphasized the importance of establishing a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Yemen’s condemnation highlights ongoing tensions surrounding Al-Aqsa Mosque and the broader Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The call for international intervention underscores the urgency of addressing these violations to ensure peace and stability in the region.
